Bridge Building

For several years in a row, I participating in a STEM competition called “Storm the Citadel” at The Citadel military college in Charleston, SC.  My friend(s) and I built bridges using only craft sticks and glue (per the guidelines for the competition). The bridges were tested for their ability to bear a minimum weight of 100 pounds and were judged for their architectural, technical and aesthetic style. We built a couple different styles of bridges and won awards every year.  Our first bridge even held over 350 pounds!  Awards included:

2020 - 1st place - Best Technical Design, 1st Place - Best Architectural Design

2019 - 1st Place Best Technical Design

2018 – 2nd Place Best Technical Design, 2nd Place Best Aesthetics Design
